A "HARPER FROM HELL"

DITCH MITCH ASAP!
 so - a friend asked me about  if i was to run for Mayor; and someof his ideas for POLISHING MY ACT.
i basically told him its a stacked deck, and  we cant beat the "house"
then  well. read on:

as for grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc- i think that off hand- my unique style of writing- works. I would rather get the idea out there, regardless of "pesky details".. Im not a "perfectionist"- 
Besides- the pragmatic reality is that the cards are stacked against any "outsiders" ever taking over the reins ( Reigns?) of power locally anyway- unless they completely sell their souls to their sponsors, and contributors; and in doing so- completely selling out the trust and money of the citizens who have to foot the bill. 
What that means- it if you support looting the treauries of not only the govt; but also the purses and wallets of every tax paying citizen for the benefit of the white collar criminal class( much like the Nazis looted Europe)- well. I dont want any part of that. 
I originally ran for Mayor for a handful of benign - maybe stupid reasons.. - first- the Mayor is ridiculously paid fat stacks of cash- one or 2 terms, i could retire; or start a hot rod factoyr business, and pay cash..
Next- to time the lights on the by pass; and other streets- to save cash; and gas, and wear and tear on my and our cars..
fix the pot holes- such as Stellhorn road, by maplecrest road; crescent ave from anthony blve to state; and many others- again- because its embarassing for visitors - when they drive over mud rutted horse paths (LOL)- but also again- if i have a nice car- i dont want to wreck the undercarriage on rotten rutted pot holed roads- if im paying taxes, i dont ask for much.. Next- to rein in the FASCIST COPS- Harassing Motorists; and citizens for petty ante offenses. serve an collect, not ticket and collect..
and last- Make the Buses run on time( make the trains run on time- a favorite movie line of politicians..)- SO- busses every 20- or 30 minutes- so it doesnt take all day to get around, Adequate Bus shelters- so the poor( most bus customers)- dont have to stand out in the elements- cold snow and rain, or blazing hot sun, etc.. AND- have weekend bus service and weekday service even - past 9PM- for poor workers without cars who have to work pastr 9 ; and weekend social drinkers- so they dont have to "drink and drive"
so- basically- thats why i got into this game- DESIRE TO SERVE THE PUBLIC AND RETURN SOMETHING TO THIS COMMUNITY- MY BELOVED HOMETOWN THAT HAS DONE SO MUCH FOR ME.. ( pay back the rotten basterds wwhove screwed me and the rest of us over..(lol...- but you will never hear any politicians say that- or- 
I WANT TO GET ELECTED SO I CAN CASH IN , GET FILTHY RICH LEGALLY ON THE GOVT TEAT- AND SUCK AS MUCH LEGAL GRAFT AND CORRUPTION AND LOOT AS I CAN FOR ME, MY FAMILY, MY FRIENDS, MY CRONIES, MY CORPORATE SUPPORTERS, THE LOCAL WEALTH Y AND GREEDY, AND THENMOVE ON TO HIGHER OFFICE, COLLECTING PENSIONS, BENEFITS, AND MORE CASH EACH STEP OF THE WAY- ?? WHAT YOU WILL ALSO NEVER HEAR FROM YOUR TYPICAL PO;ITICIANS.
BUT THEY ARE ALL THINKING IT. 
rare is just s humle gearhead who just wants to be albe to drive around town, bar hop responsibly on the weekends, or HAPPY HOURS- and just be left alone by the cops, and not tear up my car by doing so driving crummy streets, un timed stop and go traffic , wasting time and fuel, and so on.. 
NO- I JUST WANT TO PLAY THIS CITY LIKE A **HARPER** FROM HELL... ( tee hee..) (ps- DITCH MITCH..)

• en Miller David, you make great points, often...but as I tried to tell you the other night...I feel that you need an editor or a proofreader. I can't speak for others, but I won't vote for a mayor who doesn't spell-check and proofread his or her work. Others may disagree, but my opinion is that a person in a leadership position has every reason to make certain the quality of their work is outstanding. I take great pains, personally, to edit my own stuff, because it is embarrassing to me when I let sub-standard writing slip by my notice. You don't have to be great at everything...but if you have weak points, I feel it's best to build a team that will help keep your "face without boogers." You might want to consider letting a trusted friend or coworker assist you in making sure you have your best foot forward and outshine your competition. Because if you're going to run for mayor, you have some top-notch competition. Just a thought to consider. If you disagree that spelling, grammer, and such are not important, I am not offended to be disagreed with. Some things aren't important to everyone, or in the same ways. Best to you in all regards.

  Ken Miller But, getting back to your points, I was unaware of this portion of our city code and would like to review it further. Do you perhaps have a link to the above cited code? It's obviously one that needs to be analyzed and debated. Thank you for the heads up.
