We object to Knauer’s and the county’s involvement in this biased tactic to put down those who are objecting to the proposed giant dairy operation.

Not only is Knauer a county employee, he is a key administrator intimately involved in the decision-making process of zoning changes and plan approvals.

He is the primary interpreter of the county’s Unified Planning Ordinance.

It is necessary for a person in such an important role to be strictly impartial in word, deed and attitude when it comes to the public debate of contested issues. Unfortunately, in modern American politics/business, all you have to do is follow the money. Whenever some entity is stuffing money down a law maker's back pocket, they always get their way.

oe Renner My issue would be with current members of the ACEB supporting a candidate financially. Being an official over an election should be a sacred position. Yet Tim Pape has openly supported Glynn Hines financially in an election, As have several other Republicans.

David Christopher Roach hey joe- I was at the ACEB tuesday- 2-3-2-15. I usually make it a point to show up/check in on "groundhog day"- every election season- to play "ballot ballet"- to switch; change; re- arrange- whatever office im signed up for- to maybe pick a vacant office - the democrats are usually notorious for this; except this year. interesting. Im looking for about most of them to drop out on feb 9th.
anyway- I asked Amy Scrogham; and Beth Dlug about this- I noted 2 TV 21 alive "political Radar shows- in april; and october last year- where tim Pape- was a "commentator"- as "Democrat ACEB member and democrat" Tim pape- where he was endorsing, and disparaging various democrat candidates ( mostly disparaging ME) and other guest GOP chair Steve shine- who of course as a party chair- is pretty free to say what he wants..- I questioned the ACEB ladies- that if it was the Democrat chair man John court_(absentee chairman in name only - CHINO)_ then that would have been "legal"- I questioned them about the "appearance of impropriety"- as he is an ACEB board member- so he has to be neutral in political forums- esp broadcast .
If Mr Pape wants to be "partisan"- he should resign, or recuse himself.
the ladies at the ACEB- AMY AND BETH- said that the democrat and republican appointees have nor requirement to be "neutral". only the director and her deputy.
I looked incredulously- as to me this didnt pass the "smell test"- something stinks in DENMARK- to quote hamlet..
but thats how it is..evidently.
they said i could fill an election board complaint- where the subject would be given a hearing- and despite seeming unseemly- its all legal.
so- thats the modern election system for you. I didnt make the laws; and this is one that needs changed; we agree. and we know how ardous THAT is..

At issue- is one would expect a Political party chairman or 2 CHAIRMEN ON THE SAME SHOW- to JOUST- VERBALLY- as thats the point of the show- CNN's CROSSFIRE was a similar type of show..
AT Issue- is the DEMOCRAT PARTY CHAIRMAN; OR LOCAL DEMOCRAT PARTY CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEMBER, OR APPOINTED SPOKESMAN- OTHER THAN AN ELECTION BOARD MEMBER..

speaking of- MS BORGMANN suffered her own political FLAP- over her ambiguous campaign signs- where both she and her husband - ALSO "ELECT /VOTE FOR BORGMANN were not so clearly de-lineated..

I dont expect any action to be taken removing mr PAPE- as this is how the system is corrupted by money and power here in alen county- but i feel this issue needs to be raised and the PUBLIC CITIZENS should form their own opinions.
i hope i have been persuasive; and Mr PAPE will do the right thing and resign on his own accord to save face.. due to his also very political position in matters involving tax payers money..

But for a government worker paid with our tax money and one who is an administrator for both the zoning and planning functions of the county to be fronting for one side of an issue before a decision is made, is just plain wrong.
