Its none of your peoples business.
and as to you peoples not wanting to pay taxes, to support things you are against, well, i dont want to pay taxes to the military industrial complex whos sole purpose exists to kill humans AFTER they are born. We all have to pay taxes, and nobody can pick and choose what taxes they want to pay for what, and what they dont want to pay taxes for. We all have issues, and government line items we dont want to pay for, and we all have better uses for our money. Until theres a better way for everyone who wants to to help craft the federal budget- department by departmant, line item by line item, to give our overlords better input, well, then we are all stuck with an imperfect system.
for the record, I'm fiscal conservative- i dont like having to pay governments for taxes that will make other people rich, or line someones pockets- i local government, especially. I think we can agree on that broad general principle.
I am socially Liberal, ultra liberal- to offset you peoples nutty wacky tea-party ultraconservative views, and opinions. so that any compromises ( as if) become centrist.
If i'm Mayor, I wont discriminate, and will give excellent, fair, business like, professional customer /constituent services to everyone equally. Our differing opinions should have no bearing on that.
I think we will differ significantly on marijuana/ alcohol, other law enforcemnt priorities, however, but my views are both logical, common sense, nuanced, and calculated to save police resources for logical, sensible public safety priorities. Not the wasteful, stupid policing policies we have in fort wayne right now. we will all have more freedom, more safety, and it will save us all in the bottom line, as well as freeing up the police officers to feel they are really doing something valuable, instead of chasing ghosts, and putting out brush fires.
did you know that today, there are nearly 7000 outstanding felony/fugitive warrants in fortwayne/allen county> why? This number has been the norm for over a year. why cant they clear the backlog? If they spent half as much time rounding up the criminals as they do at speed traps, working 2nd and 3rd jobs, harassing stoners, social drinkers, bad drivers, skateboard scofflaws, jaywalkers, etc, well. you do the math..
so thats more than i can say in the likely 1 minute allocated, so pass this on.

Liz Brown is cozying up to the local pro-lifer cultists. They are just as bad as the westboro church, and the pro-lifer cultists are re-locating next door to Dr. Klopfers abortion clinic, near Mikes car wash on state blvd. No good can come from that- the cops, the sheriff, etc will have to have someone there 24-7 to prevent pro-lifer terrorism/assassination/bomb plots, etc. Like in witchita KS, for instance.
Eric Doden- just announced "NO help for you from us" on the 12,000 vacant properties. neighborhood code will take care of that, and theres a foreclosure hot-line to call- A lot of good that will do.
The County Owns about 1000 properties, i heard, that they ignore, and the city taxpayers have to pick up the tab. for mowing, upkeep, etc. Why doesnt Mayor Henry bill the county taxpayers for that? make the people outside the city limits share the tax burden? spread the misery. Those poor people in the inner city dont have the money to repair their homes. or prevent foreclosures. They are lucky if they can pay anything on time, or at all.
There was just an article in the NY Times, about Detroit- how its a hollowed out core. If we let Neighborhood code run things, they will demolish and gut the older, re buildable historical housing stock, and allow redevelopers, with their schemes to build new houses, and ream the poor, to live there.
Next, theres rumors underfoot that the republicans want to privatize the water-works, then the sewer works. In the words of bush the elder- "this will not stand"!( hate to waste a good line, whomever said it...) as far as I'm concerned.
So we Have Kevin Knuth, and co. - an absentee chairman/ placeholder; the self-proclaimed party spokesman, and the invisible Mayor- I wish the Mayor would show he had a pair of balls instead of misdirecting us with talk on kimmel about balls.

so heres an interesting news story- watch the 3-22 fw city council meeting. the air was so thick and tense you could cut it with a knife, so to say. seems that the city wont be able to move into the harry baals citizens square- due to construction debris delays, and some idiot( jim howard?) who put a bunch of preconditions in the cleaning co contract about hiring illegal mexicans/asians/ irish/ whatever..
Howard got reamed out by about everybody, but the thing thats the news story is someone needs to be fired for putting this racist clause in the contract to begin with.
jim howard was twisting in the wind, and i could see his Degree underarm goo was failing him. he was dying worse than "the situation" from jersey shore at the donald trump roast on comedy central recently. crickets.....
council president Mitch Harper ripped him good. ditto for Liz brown. someones heads need to roll for this royal foul-up..
Theres already too much anti- foreign sentiment in FTW as it is, and especially hispanic- I grew u with texicans, bi-racial, worked with hispanics in mexican restaurants, coolest landlord was mexican. and so on. why is everybody so prejudiced towards mexicans in fort wayne? seems like white people are being manipulated into thinking that their jobs are gone because of mexicans, instead of politicians, bankers, and businessmen on main street, and wall street.

i'm in favor of having paid SEIU unionized city employees doing the nightly cleaning/custodial work, rather than privatized contractors, due to security issues. private compaines have turnover, and whos to say a spy=type wont get themselves hired, or be hired to rummage through confidentail records gather intelligence for nefarious purposes.
Government offices, doing the peoples business, should be employed by we the people directly, instead of sub-sub contractors.

Why is the idea of taxing the wealthy such anathema to people? the cards are stacked against the common man in america. Every time the economy starts to pick up steam the FED, and wall street slam on the brakes and turn up the greed machine. ohh- we must stop inflation. of what? food and fuel arent calculated into their figures,. the reason there is a glut in the housing market is home prices are too high, for the average person to aford. hate to say it, but its supply and demand, and the equilibrium price isnt being met. And prices for consumer goods arent going down, only corporate profits going up due to cheap foreign goods. their labor costa are drastically reduced, but the price stays the same?

We the people, through our government need to nationalize all our energy industries- oil, natural gas, coal, so WE the people get the profits, through lower taxes- Exxon and BP in America reap billions in profits, but pay no taxes? thats just dumb.
We will never see cheap renewable energy for the america consumer until either there is a revolution ( ?) or when the last drop of oil is burned, the last whiff of natural gas is torched, and the last crumbof coal is up in smoke, and not until, if they have their way.

oUR ANCESTORS PUT THESE GOVERNMENT SAFEGUARDS AND SOCIAL SAFETY NET IN PLACE, TO PREVENT ANOTHER DEPRESSION. THE REPUBLICANS GUTTED THEM, THE SPECIAL INTERESTS, THE CORPORATIONS, WALL STREET SPECULATORS, AND GREED HEADS, AND LOOK WHAT WE GOT? SCREWED!
Everybody is complaining about social security and medicare. yet wall street, where that money is invested in retirement accounts etc, thinks this money is theirs, and so blow it on worthless ponzi schemes( bernie madoffs, etc). so you want we should privatize social security,and give our money to them? Thats like getting robbed , then calling the robber, and giving them more money. insane!
Medicare, medicaid? I know people in canada who are perfectly happy with their so-called socialistic health care system. socialism merely means that the government of by and for the people control the business, and the profits accrue back to the people, sort of like protit sharing.
So lets look atht ehhealth insurance business- how many billions fo dollars of protis do they suck up? imagine if those profits wer ours, and re- channeled back into medicare, and medicaid?

Nw the military-industrial complex- 1 question- wheres OSAMA? we invade IRAQ- a blatant attempt to hi-jack an oil tanker, an act of piracy by bush, cheney, rove, rumsfeld, and "the usual suspects" its like losing your rolex watch in the house, and looking for it ourside, because the lights better. The USA was within 50 yards of killing bin laden, and his pals, and we let them slip away. I thought that was the point. kill them, wipe out al-qaeda, and go home. but no, we invade a sovreign nation, commit war crimes, frame and execute their leader, destabilize a country, and for what? ditto for Afghanistan.
